Effective June 15, 2026 – September 15, 2026, the South Whatcom Fire Authority has declared a Stage 1 burn ban.
SVCA Rule & Regulations require that the Association follow the direction of the Fire Authority. When a burn ban is in effect, no outdoor fires are allowed except properly enclosed cooking fires using has or charcoal as fuel will be permitted. No recreational fires will be permitted for the duration of the burn ban.
No warnings will be given for violating SVCA’s ban on fireworks and open fires. Use of fireworks will result in a $100 fine. Violation of the burn ban results in a fine of $250.
