GM RECRUITMENT BEGINS

The Board of Directors, with the support of the GM Transition Committee and Novak Consulting Group, has begun recruiting for the General Manager position at the Sudden Valley Community Association. The first review of applicants will be on October 11, 2021, with interviews of qualified candidates to begin shortly thereafter. The Board appreciates the feedback we received from the survey that was done in coordination with Novak, and we will consider that feedback in our selection of a candidate. The recruitment brochure for the General Manager position is located HERE.

The Board is excited at the opportunity to bring in a highly skilled, qualified, and motivated individual to lead our Association. The GM Transition Committee has spent the last several months working with our Management Team to ensure we have created a collaborative organizational structure to bring in this key leadership role. We recognize that our department managers are the backbone of our organization, and they provide the stability needed to deliver consistent services to our community.  We expect the new General Manager to come in and support our existing Management Team and work to ensure a smooth transition into their new role.

We will provide additional information to the community as we move through the interview process as it becomes available.

Letter from the Board to Our Members

Dear SVCA Community Members,

Last week the SVCA Board of Directors and Interim GM Glenn Akramoff came to a mutual agreement not to extend Glenn’s contract past June 30th, 2021. The Board and Glenn are working to ensure a smooth transition and we anticipate little, if any, change in day-to-day operations and services.

After a closed session on Friday, June 18th, the Board unanimously ratified the Executive Committee’s decision from June 15th to remove Glenn Akramoff from the role of lead negotiator for SVCA in the collective bargaining negotiations with the Teamsters Union and replace him with the Association’s legal counsel, Richard Davis.

The Board also unanimously voted to authorize our Treasurer to work with the Audit Committee to create an alternate budget proposal. The Audit Committee is an advisory committee of the Board, and this decision has no impact on the finance committee’s oversight responsibilities. This decision by the Board is to ensure the draft budget presented for review and discussion to the Finance Committee and membership is aligned with our strategic goals, ensuring long-term sustainability of our Sudden Valley Community.

The Board is continuing the GM search with a professional recruiting company, and we will provide more information as it becomes available. We appreciate your patience as we continue to move through this process.

Andrew Tischleder

SVCA Board President
