Garbage Collection Expected as Normal on Holiday Fridays

According to Sanitary Service Company of Bellingham, which serves Sudden Valley,

Does SSC pick-up on holidays?

Yes, SSC crews work all holidays that fall on weekdays.

If your collection day falls on a holiday, please set out your garbage, recycling and/or FoodPlus! (if you subscribe to this service) the night before your collection day or by 6:30AM. We may be in your area a bit earlier that usual on holidays due to lighter traffic.

To help prevent litter, customers are reminded to bag and seal all trash before placing in containers and to place each recycling bin on the ground during windy weather.

SSC offices and our three area Drop Box Facility & Recycling Centers are closed most major holidays.  Please check our News page for info or connect with us on Facebook.”

Please contact SSC Directly for details about service to your address.

UPDATE 12/22 Power Outage

We expect all 2765 customers in the Sudden Valley neighborhood to be restored by 3pm this afternoon.

Crews are currently on site to cut or clear two large trees leaning against the line before reenergizing the system.

We understand how difficult it is to be without power, especially with so many of our customers working from home. Our crews are working as quickly as they can to safely assess damage and make repairs to equipment. Estimated restoration times will be updated on our outage map at pse.com/outagemap

Have a safe and happy holiday season!
